Playable races for students and teachers:
Witch/Wizard
According to ancient times, witches and wizards were people who sold their souls to demons or the devil himself. While in some cases that was true, witches and wizards are simple humans, born with the power to control the elements. While they are quite common, not many humans know about them, as it is dangerous for magicians (just remember the Salem Witch-hunts). Most magicians can only control 1 of the four elements and can learn to control another over time. There are, however, some magicians who can control not only two, but all elements with perfection. This is rare, however.
Magicians began to show signs of other abilities developing and while not many wishes to embrace this new power, there are many who seek demonic help to control it.
Oderia is a safe haven for those who wish to learn to control their abilities.
Elf
There are many kind of elves, each with their own element. The only common thing between them may be their long lifespan, tall figure and pointy ears.
The Wood Elves, controlling the element Earth are the most common, generally found in forests, including the one near Oderia. They are peaceful people, yet if they have to, they defend themselves. A wood elf only considered adult once they completed their first hunt. New rules began to be accepted, however, as Oderia gave new options to elves who wish to study how to use their special magical powers.
The High Elves, living around mountains, are the controllers of the Air element. They don't like to be around others and prefer to hide themselves. The fact that there are some, who wish to learn at the school came as a shock to their community.
Dark Elves are the controller of Water. They tend to have darker skin (in the shade of dark blue) and glowing eyes. Aggressive creatures, hiding in dark and dangerous forests. They don't attack randomly though, only if there is need. And while they control the water element, their emotional state is more that of the Fire. This might be the reason why they have the tendency of being able to use both of them.
Fire Elves are the rarest of all. Nomad elves, who are used to the heat of the deserts. A fire elf does not like to stay at one place and has a very hard time to settle down.
Half Demon
Demons are dangerous creatures. They lurk in the dark, hoping to find people who would give them their souls in exchange for power. If a demon falls in love with a human (and only then) they will conceive a child. This child will be half demon, either from the outside or from the inside (their souls). For a half demon to be accepted as a full demon, they have to sacrifice a human life. If one falls in love with a human, however, they shall remain half demons till the end of their lives.
Vampire
Creatures of the darkness, longing for the blood of humans. Most vampires have been the descendants of vampires of the past - Dracula, Elizabeth Báthory and others, but it is possible for a vampire to change a human into their kind as well. That can be done by sharing their blood (and thus, only drinking the blood of a human cannot turn the victim into vampire). Most vampires tend to be arrogant and selfish. They are passionate and would do anything to get a human or a witch/wizard to agree to share their blood. The more willing the victim is, the better tasting the blood is and also the more pleasure it will give the victim. There are no half vampires, as a vampire cannot conceive a child with anyone except their own kind.
Lectoblix
Lectoblixes are the ancient enemies of vampires. It sucks the youth out of young people. Lectoblixes look like regular men and woman, but they lure young people into their lairs and bite their necks to suck their youth. While vampires can turn their victims, lectoblixes cannot. They can, however, have children with other species. If a Lectoblix doesn't suck the youth from someone within 30 days, they will die. Lectoblixes are close to vampires due to their behavior and great interest of biting and sucking the youth out of people.
Werewolf
While many people think that vampires and werewolves are enemies, this is untrue. There are problems when the two have to work together, but apart from slight rivalry, they is no real threat.
There are two kinds of werewolves: those that were bitten and those who are the descendants of ancient werewolves. Bitten werewolves transform once a month, at full moon. At that time they are unable to control themselves and can attack anyone.
Real werewolves have full control over their own abilities and can not only transform at will, but sustain their animalistic features (superhuman hearing, smelling, speed, etc).

Other playable races:
Human
Humans are non-magical beings. They have no special abilities nor the capability to control the elements. Some know of the existence of the magical world and are helping magical creatures out whenever they can. It is possible for humans to have magical children, but it's rare.
Dwarf
Dwarves are short and stout creatures mostly inhabiting mountains across the world. They are shorter than humans, more muscular and tend to use fire magic, IF they are magical. Dwarf, however, tend to be simple warriors and would only leave the mountains if they were asked on a mission of great importance. While a dwarf prefers to plan forward to overcome challenges, many of them easily lose their temperament and self-restraint when exposed to conditions stirring their feelings and concerns. Dwarves like drinking, mining, and finding treasure.
Fairy
Small sized creatures with wings and usually talents in Earth magic. Magicians can make pacts with them so that they can be summoned when the Magician is in trouble and protect them. They can be found hiding in flowers. They are invisible to the human eyes.
Mermaid
Mermaids are half fish half human creatures living in seas and deeper lakes across the world. They can only use water magic.
Ghost
Ghosts are deceased beings, usually afraid of going to the next plain. This can cause them to become poltergeists or raging souls, thus making them very dangerous. It is also possible, however, that they just want to watch over loved ones and decided to stay. There are many such ghosts in Oderia, as the Headmasters agreed to let them stay.
Centaur
Half human-half horse creatures. They are arrogant and think they are better than others. If a centaur is proven otherwise and decides to pledge their loyalties to the person in question, they will be their allies to the death.
Nymph
Nymphs are curious creatures. They can be either water or wood nymphs. Peaceful beings, who like to run around, dance, sing and enjoy life in general. Nymphs have defensive and healing magic and can be summoned if a magician makes a pact with them. It is hard to convince them for this though, as they don't like violence.
